Radiofrequency microneedling or fractional radiofrequency is a non-invasive skin improving technique and a form of skin improvement. With RF microneedling, we stimulate the skin at different depths with a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency waves. With this treatment, we damage the surface of the skin less than with regular microneedling.
The tips of the needles emit radiofrequency heat. This heat penetrates deep into the dermis and this causes the skin to contract somewhat, causing tightening. In addition, we “ask” the skin to become more active. The fibroblasts go to work producing more collagen and elastin. The fibroblasts also produce more hyaluronic acid. With the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, the skin becomes smoother, tighter and more hydrated. In addition, the color and condition of the skin is improved.
With the common microneedling treatment, we improve the skin by creating “damage” on the surface of the skin, the epidermis. This damage activates the natural repair and wound healing process of the epidermis. With the RF microneedling treatment, the needles work by stamping instead of scratching. Through experience in practice and the studies done on this technique, we see that 3 to 6 treatments should be performed for the best results. There should be as much as 4 weeks between each treatment. The result is at its best after 3 to 4 months. This does not mean that the result is gone after this, only that the activity in the skin decreases somewhat.

RF microneedling is one of the best skin treatments and therefore not the cheapest, but the results speak for themselves. The starting price we use is € 550 per treatment, but we also offer a package where the price per treatment is about € 467. For the best results several treatments are needed.
The treatment is generally not perceived as painful. There is obviously a sting and some heat felt, but this is very well tolerated. Despite this, sensitivity to the treatment may vary from person to person. Should the treatment be too painful, we can always change some settings. In addition, we can apply a superficial skin anesthetic.
After treatment, the skin is somewhat red and may glow a bit. Sometimes slight swelling may occur under the eyes. These reactions disappear within a few hours to a day after treatment.
Be aware of UV radiation and tanning for at least 2 weeks after treatment. The skin is extra sensitive to UV radiation after treatment. This can cause hyperpigmentation.

Downtime is minimal. You may return to your normal routine post treatment. A mild sunburn feeling is common. After treatment the skin may look a little flushed for a short period of time. You must avoid the sun and wear a stand alone 30 SPF sunblock at all times. There is a relatively easy recovery and low risk associated with this procedure. We always encourage you to plan accordingly as some clients experience a greater reaction.

Swelling, blistering, infection, unwanted pigmentation changes and scarring are rare side effects. Existing viral infections such as shingles and herpes may be activated by the treatment.
